Fluffo

This is clearly a kitchen and I was struck by the can of Fluffo still on the counter. Fluffo is a brand of shortening (used for cooking and baking). It looks like the cook just walked out of the kitchen, never to return.

I don't know what's in that bottle but it looks like it could have been left a year ago, not over 100...

Morning Ritual

I love this room because the news paper is still on the table and the bird cage is still hanging from the wall. I wonder what kind of bird they kept as a pet.

Safe!

There's not much left of the Bank building but the Safe still stands (and in good shape cosmetically at least)!

Sit and Sew

A parlor? A livingroom? This room was probably well used. The sewing machine probably sewed countless garments and repaired used ones. What hung in that crooked frame? Was it a painting? Of what? I wish the room could speak.

Glass Jars

You can see the countless glass jars on the table. In the window, at the back of the photo, there is a pair of crutches leaning against the window. Was this the pharmacist?

Meeting Interrupted

I love the moment in time captured in this room/s. It looks like a meeting got interrupted and those in attendance left in a hurry.

A basket of hope

This room is almost empty except for a basket and a cupboard. It appears there is a blank or clothing in the basket on the floor. There are still dishes and some papers in the cupboard. Family, come back.

The Hat

With all of the decay happening in the room, the gentleman's hat still hangs neatly on the chair.

Fixer

This home seems in such good shape. The gentlemen's hat is hanging from a chair in the room to the left, there are still items on what looks like a hutch in the kitchen. It almost looks like it could be fixed with little renovation.

Sierra Club Beverages

A window and a door - perhaps this was a covered porch or sun room? What struck me was the crates of Sierra Club Beverages Co. Inc, Glendale, CA.

This was the Chinese Laundry building in Bodie. From the presence of this sewing machine, it's obvious there was mending available here too.

This building appeared to be a barn or "garage" of some sort.

Broken

All that's left here is a broken table, a small hutch and a few scraps. What is missing?

Missing

It appears to me there is a missing wood burning stove. Was this a kitchen?

Layered

This photo is so layered. You have multiple rooms/spaces, layers of wall paper and ceiling material peeling off yet more remains underneath.

This family had a wagon in their garage. It still remains to this day. How did they leave?
